Oliver's Senior Session

Sometimes the stars align in the most chaotic, wonderful ways.

Oliver had been hoping for a slot to shoot this past weekend while the foliage was hot for his high school senior portraits, but prime autumn calendar dates fill up quickly. When a sudden Saturday morning cancellation opened up an empty afternoon that very day, my first message went straight to Oliver’s family: “Are you ready to make this happen?”

What followed was a sprint that could only be described as a full-blown wardrobe scramble for the perfect looks! By the time we met at Springweather, you never would have guessed this session was pulled together in just a few hours. In fact, Oliver stepped out looking less like someone who threw an outfit together that morning and more like he was ready to walk onto a magazine set.

Springweather served up the absolute best backdrop for the occasion. The warm light filtered through the open meadows, casting that soft golden hour glow across the tall grasses and rustic dirt roads.

We started near the river with Mt. Ascutney’s grandeur serving as a classic fall backdrop to accompany Oliver’s perfectly manicured look. Working with Oliver was an absolute breeze; he brought an easygoing confidence that made natural candid moments fall into place without any stiff posing. A quick wardrobe change into a relaxed, timeless jacket brought out an entirely different edge, perfectly complementing the beautiful landscape as the autumn sun shone overhead.

Senior sessions are always special because they mark the threshold of a huge life chapter. But sessions like Oliver’s—where spontaneous timing, quick improvisation, and pure style come together so seamlessly—remind me why I love what I do.

Here are a few highlights from an unforgettable afternoon at Springweather. Oliver, congratulations on your senior year—you absolutely crushed it!
