Can you believe it took me this long to finally explore Muckross State Park? Right here on the edge of town sits this absolute gem of a natural escape, and I am still blown away by the quiet beauty tucked just off the beaten path. Now, fair warning—the hike in and out was no joke! Between hauling gear, navigating trails, and wading right into the brook for the perfect shot, my watch logged plenty of steps. But the moment the golden canopy and babbling water opened up, every single incline was worth it.
Even more incredible than the location, though, was the senior standing in front of my lens: Harper.
If you’ve spent any Friday nights under the lights at Brown Field or anywhere near a Springfield Cosmos football game, chances are you already know Harper. She is that powerhouse 50/50 ticket salesperson whose infectious smile and relentless energy make it completely impossible to say no!
That drive carries over into absolutely everything she touches. On the field and court, Harper is a standout multi-season athlete competing in soccer, basketball, and track. Off the field, she brings that same calm confidence to the boardroom as a student representative to the school board, advocating for her peers and leading by example. If you looked up "natural-born leader" in the dictionary, Harper’s photo would be right next to the definition.
During her session, she brought that effortless mix of determination and warmth. Whether she was kicking off her shoes to brave the chilly brook waters, laughing under the vibrant October leaves, or striking a poised portrait, Harper made every frame look easy.
Harper, thank you for trusting me to capture this milestone season and for being up for an outdoor adventure! You bring so much passion, heart, and leadership to our community, and watching where you head next is going to be nothing short of incredible.
